Vit Kit – Freeze NX is an adaptable, cost-effective system for use in the vitrification of oocytes, pronuclear zygotes, cleavage stage embryos, and blastocyst stage embryos. Vit Kit – Freeze NX is the latest advancement in vitrification media aimed to safeguard embryos and achieve high survival rates. Unlike many vitrification kits that feature a mono-buffered system and a M199 base medium originally formulated for chick embryo fibroblasts, Vit Kit – Freeze NX is derived from current IVF media tailored specifically for human embryos.
The backbone of Vit Kit – Freeze NX is Continuous Single Culture medium, an IVF medium intended for conventional fertilization and non-sequential embryo culture. Similar to our Multipurpose Handling Medium, Vit Kit-NX takes advantage of two buffers, HEPES and MOPS, to provide a more secure pH environment for oocytes and embryos during vitrification. Vit Kit – Freeze NX delivers consistent results, including high oocyte and embryo survival rates, while also offering an effective, flexible, and economical media suited for the nuanced needs of the modern IVF laboratory.
- Formula based on Continuous Single Culture medium (CSCM) and Multipurpose Handling Medium (MHM) to minimize stress on oocytes and embryos, and achieve high survival rates

- Trehalose as the non-permeating cryoprotectant supports higher glass transition temperature and membrane stabilization than sucrose
- Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) and Ethylene Glycol (EG) as permeating cryoprotectants
- Supplemented with 20% (v/v) Dextran Serum Supplement (DSS) for a final concentration of 10 mg/mL HSA and 4 mg/mL Dextran

Irvine Scientific vitrification media can be used to vitrify blastocysts that have been cultured in any culture media.
We have confirmed the shelf life using unopened and properly stored vials of solutions. Once opened, it is recommended that you use solutions within 8 weeks, assuming they are used under aseptic conditions and do not exhibit any of the characteristics of contamination indicated in the "precautions" section of the product inserts.
It is best to aliquot the media aseptically into the right vial sizes and store frozen for further use. When stored as directed, Test Yolk Buffer will be stable until the expiration date shown on the bottle.
